VPRO-E NEWS: Nigerian President Compares his Country’s Unrest to Syria – Arutz Sheva

In an effort to draw international attention to the violence engulfing his country, Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan compared the situation in his country, with unrest and killings led by an Islamist extremist sect, to the ongoing civil war in Syria.

Speaking Sunday to a church congregation in the capital of Abuja, Jonathan said the sect, Boko Haram, “is taking over Abuja (and wants) for me and those working in government to run and hide somewhere else.”

It is estimated that Boko Haram has killed more than 780 people this year in Nigeria.
