There was no after party for Rick Ross on Sunday night after shots were fired at his Rolls Royce as the rapper was leaving a nightclub after his birthday party.
Ross and his entourage made it out of the gunfire unscathed. But police say local businesses were hit and Ross’ vehicle crashed into an apartment building as he attempted to make a quick getaway down East Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The New York Times reports.
Police said the incident happened at about 5 a.m. when Ross, 37, and his passenger, Shateria L. Moragne-el, 28, heard multiple shots fired towards their vehicle.
Police have made no arrests and no suspects have been identified.
”We are currently looking for members of the public to come forward with information. No one was arrested and we have no suspects,” Detective DeAnna Garcia, of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, told HollywoodLife.com. “The victim (Ross) co-operated with the police on scene and was released. No one was injured or taken to hospital.”
In 2009, Ross founded the Maybach Music Group and released his album Deeper Than Rap and Teflon Don featuring collaborations with Ne-Yo and Kanye West. His most recent album, God Forgives, I Don’t is nominated for this year’s Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and he also wrote a song for Quentin Tarantino’s film Django Unchained, called 100 Black Coffins.
